Easter Sunday

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 16-20

We enjoyed a family day today. Reflecting on how Jesus died for us on the cross is profound and always just what I need to put my life's worries into perspective. Our preacher talked about how Jesus suffered all of God's wrath for our sins; there have been others who have given their lives in the name of our Savior, but Jesus is the only one who has truly felt the impact of His father's wrath. He took on ALL of our sins. Isn't that amazing? It's so hard to comprehend on a human level.

We did our best to get a family picture today. There were several tries. Avi, of course, didn't want to smile. And, when she did smile, Sally Sharp was looking the other way. This is probably the best one we got, even though I'm not in love with Avi's smile. But, nothing to dwell on, for sure!

And, of course, the Easter Bunny came to visit us last night. As you can tell, Avi was a little less than cooperative about taking pictures this morning. She IS showing off her Rapunzel doll she got, though. She really likes it, and she now has LOTS of hair to brush and take care of for her sweet doll.

I actually got her to smile with her crown on (it's a Pinkalicious crown!).

Sally Sharp decided it was more fun to much on some puffs instead of worrying about the loot from the Easter Bunny :). She enjoyed playing with her "happies" or should I say "hoppies" later in the day.

Happy Easter everyone. When you get caught up in the craziness of life (which I have been consumed with lately), remember Jesus's suffering so we could live full lives. In return, we are to strive to be like Him and proclaim Him as our Lord and Savior. I challenge you to inspect your lives and make sure you are fostering your relationship with Christ.

Pinkalicious!

What's Pinkalicious you ask? You can read more about it here. It might be one of the best children's books ever written for little girls! Nana bought it for Avi for her birthday, and it has been a favorite ever since! I have been trying to upload this video of Avi "reading" Pinkalicious for months now. It just would not upload to blogger for some reason. So, I posted it on my YouTube account. I'm hoping this works. The video is a couple of minutes long, and she gets sidetracked a couple of times while she's reading, but I love hearing her little voice! Hopefully this link will work: http://youtu.be/W1JznaOMK-M

Hope y'all enjoy it!
